Corrections and complaints

Pollar publishes a daily editorial review, topical threads and event briefs. Most of it is written by AI, and the newsroom corrects errors after publication. Mistakes happen. Here is how we correct them.

How we correct errors

When we detect or are alerted to a factual error:

  1. Update the affected article. Add a dated note at the end of it that says what changed.
  2. If the error materially changes a thread's state, the next agent tick incorporates the correction. A chronicle entry records what was wrong.
  3. We republish corrected digests only when the error materially changes the day's read. Otherwise we issue a separate note.

Correction under the Polish Press Law

If one of our pieces contains inaccurate or untrue information, you can request a correction under Articles 31a–33 of the Polish Press Law (Prawo prasowe). This is separate from the error reports described above.

  1. Send the request in writing to the editor-in-chief, Jakub Dudek, at the newsroom address: Pollar.pl, ul. Piastowska 46/12, 30-067 Kraków, Poland, by post or by hand. We also accept requests by email to contact@pollar.news if they are signed: as a scan of a signed letter or with a qualified electronic signature.
  2. Send the request within 21 days of publication. Include your name (or company name), a postal address, the link to the piece and the text of the correction.
  3. The correction must be matter-of-fact and relate to the facts. It may be at most twice the length of the passage it corrects and written in Polish or in the language of the piece.
  4. We publish it free of charge within 3 working days of receipt, in the same place and form as the corrected piece, under the heading “Correction”, without cuts or changes. We publish no comment on it the same day.
  5. If we refuse to publish it, for example because it does not relate to facts or arrived after the deadline, we send you a written refusal with reasons within 7 days (Article 33).
