31-year-old man dies after falling from 10-metre wall near Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science
On Friday evening, a 31-year-old man lost his balance while on a wall near Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science, falling onto a concrete ramp and dying despite lengthy resuscitation.
The incident
A 31-year-old man died on Friday evening, 31 July, after falling from a wall about 10 metres high at Plac Defilad in central Warsaw, next to the Palace of Culture and Science. He was spending time with friends, a woman and a man, and alcohol was present. According to unofficial findings cited by local media, the man climbed onto the wall to dance and lost his balance, falling onto the concrete ramp of an underground parking garage that is still under construction.

Rescue efforts and death
Emergency services arrived quickly. Paramedics began a prolonged resuscitation attempt at the scene, but the internal injuries from the fall were too severe.
Unfortunately, despite lengthy resuscitation, the man's life could not be saved.
The victim died at the scene. His friends witnessed the entire sequence, from the climb to the fall and the failed rescue effort.
Investigation
Police officers secured the area and, under the supervision of a prosecutor, began a detailed examination of the site. The investigation is focusing on witness statements, including those of the two people who were with the victim. Authorities are currently treating the death as an unfortunate accident. The man's identity has not been released, and toxicology tests are expected to confirm whether he was under the influence of alcohol, as preliminary assessments suggest.
