Greece will experience generally clear skies on Sunday, 2 August 2026, as the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) predicts a sunny day with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius in the west. North-northeast winds of 4 to 6 Beaufort will blow across eastern regions, with the Aegean Sea seeing local gusts up to 7 Beaufort during the morning. A slight weakening is expected from the afternoon. The strong winds that reached 9 to 10 Beaufort in the seas earlier in the week will continue to ease, returning to more typical August levels by Monday.

Thessaly, eastern Sterea, Evia, and eastern Peloponnese will see 34 to 35°C, with southern parts touching 35°C. Attica will range from 23 to 33°C, with eastern and northern suburbs 1 to 2 degrees lower. The Cyclades and northern Crete will stay around 30°C, though southern Crete may reach 32°C. The eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese will see 33 to 34°C. Thessaloniki will have a high of 34°C, with a low of 20°C.

Wind conditions
The strongest winds will occur in the morning. In the Aegean, north winds of 5 to 6 Beaufort will gust to 7 Beaufort in the northern Cyclades and along the eastern coasts of the mainland. The Thracian Sea will see east-northeast winds of 4 to 5 Beaufort, locally 6 in the morning. In the Ionian, winds will start from the east at 3 to 5 Beaufort, shifting to west-northwest up to 4 Beaufort from midday. Attica will experience north winds of 4 to 6 Beaufort, with local gusts to 7 in the east during the morning, easing by afternoon. Thessaloniki will have lighter south-southeast winds of 2 to 4 Beaufort. In western Macedonia and Thrace, a few local clouds will develop during the midday and afternoon, but no precipitation is forecast.

Fire risk alert
