A 65-year-old man was taken into custody early Sunday after a massive search involving 255 officers, dogs, drones, and a helicopter, following the discovery of his 64-year-old wife's body in Borków, Poland.
Discovery and autopsy
On Friday afternoon, July 3, police were called to a home in Borków, a village near Kielce, where a 64-year-old woman was found dead. A relative, concerned after losing contact, had discovered the body. The woman's husband, 65, was missing. An autopsy conducted on Saturday revealed severe multi-organ head injuries, and the prosecutor stated the crime occurred around noon on July 3.

The manhunt
Police immediately launched a search for the husband, the last person known to have seen the woman alive. The operation grew to include 255 officers at its peak, with search dogs, drones, and a police helicopter combing forests and surrounding areas. Officers also monitored roads, including the route toward Kraków.

Suspect description and public appeal
On Saturday, police released a silhouette image of the suspect captured by surveillance cameras, along with a detailed description: about 175 cm tall, stocky build, short gray hair, wearing a brown V-neck sweater and brown trousers with rolled-up cuffs. He was barefoot and had a visibly swollen right hand or forearm. Authorities urged the public not to approach him but to call a dedicated hotline (789 759 706) or emergency number 112.
Arrest
The manhunt ended before 7 AM on Sunday, July 5, when police confirmed the 65-year-old had been detained. No charges have been announced yet, and the investigation continues under the supervision of the Kielce District Prosecutor's Office. Police noted there had been no prior interventions at the home and no domestic violence procedure was in place.
