The attack
On Saturday, 1 August 2026, a 30-year-old Polish woman was stabbed multiple times in the stairwell of a building on Gagarina Street in the Muchobór Wielki district of Wrocław. Aleksandra Freus of the Wrocław municipal police headquarters said the woman is in hospital in a life-threatening condition, an assessment carried consistently across Polish reporting. The suspect was arrested the same night by criminal division officers from the Fabryczna police station. Monika Kaleta, another police spokesperson, confirmed to RMF FM that the 18-year-old is a Ukrainian citizen.
