Italian cabinet approves autonomy bills for four northern regions and new road code
The cabinet also approved the budget programme document, due in Brussels by 15 October, a decree on the ex Ilva steelworks and a plan for Campi Flegrei. Autonomy bills for Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto now move to Parliament.

Ex Ilva Taranto hot area to halt Friday as Genoa and Novi Ligure plants face shutdown by 15 November
Acciaierie d'Italia will suspend production in the Taranto hot area from 9 October after a Milan court rejected a request to delay the closure order. The company also announced a temporary general stop of the Genoa and Novi Ligure plants by 15 November.

Suspected wolf attacks third child near Bari, parks closed as hunt intensifies
A six-year-old child was hospitalized with chest wounds after being attacked by a suspected wolf in Noicattaro, near Bari, on Ferragosto night, becoming the third child attacked in the same area since August 4.
