Greek authorities arrested three people on 8 August for two fires that broke out on 7 August: a cigarette-started blaze in Lesbos and a solar park short circuit in Corinthia that burned about 550 stremmata of land.

Very high fire risk (category 4) is forecast for Attica, Evia, Chios and Lesvos on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 38°C and northerly winds up to 7 Beaufort. Authorities have ordered a full civil protection mobilization under the Red Code.
