Andalusia registered the highest temperatures in Spain on Friday as the country's third official heatwave of the summer, declared on Tuesday, pushed readings above 43°C. The municipality of Albox in Almería province recorded the national maximum of 43.3°C at 18:00, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) consulted by Europa Press.

Lorca (Murcia) followed with 42°C at 16:30, and Rágol, inside the Sierra Nevada National Park in Almería, also reached 42°C at 16:00. Estepona (Málaga) came next at 41.9°C (16:40), then Almansa (Albacete) with 41.8°C (16:50). Coín (Málaga) matched that 41.8°C at 16:20, and Málaga airport recorded 41.5°C at 16:50. The list was completed by Llimiana (Lleida) at 41.4°C (16:10), and the Murcian towns of Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla, both at 41.3°C, recorded at 13:40 and 14:50 respectively. Five of the ten highest readings were in Andalusian localities.
