Céline Dion is set to open her 16-date residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre on Saturday, 12 September 2026. The residency marks her return to live performance following a six-year absence caused by stiff-person syndrome, a neurological condition that kept her away from touring since 2020. The initial run of shows, scheduled to run through mid-October, sold 480,000 tickets across four days when sales opened in April. Turnout estimates range between 30,000 and 40,000 attendees per evening at the venue, formerly known as Paris La Défense Arena. The singer arrived in Paris on 28 August to begin preparations and rehearsals ahead of the autumn concert series.

Fan gatherings and cultural events across Paris

Since arriving in the French capital, Dion has stayed at Le Royal Monceau hotel in the eighth arrondissement, where hundreds of supporters gather daily along the perimeter barriers. The singer has established a routine of greeting crowds, exchanging brief remarks, and singing lines from songs such as 'Pour que tu m'aimes encore' and 'J'irai où tu iras.' Supporters and fan club members from France and abroad have organized around both the hotel and public venues across the metropolitan area. Tanguy, an Avignon resident and member of The Red Heads fan club, traveled to Paris after securing a residency ticket.

Public events organized in parallel include large karaoke gatherings held at the Grand Rex cinema in Paris and the Marcel-Cerdan sports palace in Levallois.

Economic surge across hotels, transport, and retail

The concert residency has increased demand across Parisian transport, accommodation, and retail sectors, with overall economic returns projected at 1 billion euros in 2026. Travel booking platform Trainline recorded a sharp increase in train and bus reservations to Paris for the September and October dates. Accommodation providers across the capital reported high occupancy rates weeks ahead of the opening performance. At the two-star Hôtel Odessa near Gare Montparnasse, all 41 rooms were booked well ahead of standard schedules. Anaïs Plegat, the hotel's director, observed the booking acceleration following the ticket launch.

By mid-August, we were already almost fully booked for the entire month of September.

Retail operations have also recorded elevated customer visits, including a dedicated pop-up store at Galeries Lafayette that has attracted international visitors such as Dutch fan Patricia Keuken.

Extended schedule and 2027 concerts

Heavy demand during the initial ticket release led organizers to expand the 2026 schedule from 10 to 16 concerts at the Nanterre venue. The 2026 performance series concludes on 17 October, with ticket distribution handled through digital queues and lottery draws. In response to the sold-out autumn dates, promoter teams added 10 further concerts for May 2027 at the same arena, with tickets selling out within hours. The residency represents Dion's first concert appearance in France in nearly ten years, extending her live schedule into mid-2027.
