Formula 1 returns to Madrid on 11 September for the Spanish Grand Prix, the 14th round of the World Championship, ending a 45-year absence from the Spanish capital. The event marks the debut of the Madring circuit and is the first race under a 10-year contract agreed between Madrid and Formula 1. Local drivers Carlos Sainz, who also serves as an ambassador for the event, and Fernando Alonso race as hosts looking to secure points finishes.
The weekend arrives with Kimi Antonelli leading the championship standings following a victory at Monza where he gained 18 positions. On-track running starts on Friday with the first free practice session at 13:30 and the second practice at 17:00. The third practice session is scheduled for Saturday at 16:00, followed by the main race on Sunday at 15:00.
