Before a sellout crowd of 31,344 at Stadion Reymonta, Wisła Kraków returned to the Polish top flight with a 2:1 victory over GKS Katowice, their first Ekstraklasa match in over four years.

Łukasz Klemenz gave the Polish side an early lead, but Miroslav Kacer's penalty and Timotej Hranica's strike just after half-time turned the match. The return leg is on 30 July in Katowice.
