London's oldest restaurant Rules given to National Trust in £11m donation
The building housing Rules, which opened as an oyster bar in 1798, has been given to the National Trust by its owner of four decades, J-P Mayhew. The gift also passes on the restaurant's yearly rent, which will fund conservation work.
